Context
The project aimed to reforest degraded upland areas that had become dominated by Imperata cylindrica grasses due to shifting agricultural practices. Through large-scale community planting efforts, the initiative sought to restore these landscapes, enhance the region’s resilience to extreme weather events by stabilizing slopes and reducing runoff, and promote sustainable livelihoods by creating project-related employment and supporting parallel sustainable agriculture initiatives.
