Context

The project aimed to restore coastal mangrove ecosystems in areas occupied by abandoned fishponds. Through large-scale community planting efforts, it sought to rebuild mangrove cover, strengthen the region’s resilience to extreme weather by serving as a natural storm barrier, and promote sustainable livelihoods through project-related employment and support for complementary fisheries initiatives.
